Press Release Author = National Parks Reservations

Industry = Accounting

Press Release Summary = Here you will find information on seasonal winter schedules
for several of the most popular National Parks. There are many activities that can
be partaken of in the winter months from cross-country skiing to enjoying the warmth
of southern national parks.

Press Release Body = The mellow summer of the Flathead Valley has gently sloped into
fall. The evidence of this is visible not only in the mountainsides sprayed with a
stunning array of colors, or the chilly nights; the Harvest Moon has just made its
appearance, peaking through dark clouds in the endless Montana sky.

As a native of this pristine wilderness area I look forward to visiting Glacier
National Park all year. Though some areas, such as Going-to-the Sun Road are closed
during the snowy season there are other areas open and accessible for wildlife
watching, and peaceful cross-country skiing adventures on maintained trails
throughout the Park.

Because of my job as an informational writer on the National Parks around the
country I realize that there are many people who would like to visit the National
Parks during the "off season" for a variety of reasons, from a simple get-away to a
Thanksgiving family reunion in Sequoia National Park, to an escape from the cold at
Zion National Park. It is valuable to know which National Parks are open and
accessible in these winter months. To this end I have compiled a short list of
popular National Parks and their working hours/seasons.

Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park is open year round, however due to snow and ice there various
visitor facilities are that closed part of or all of the winter season. Spring tends
to arrive late here and so it is important to check with Park officials about hours
of operation into late May.

Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton is open from late May to late September. Two of the visitor centers are
open in the winter at various times. Check the website for details before you go.

Rocky Mountain National Park
The park is open 24 hours a day, 12 months of the year.

Shenandoah National Park
Shenandoah National Park is open year round. There are some portions of Skyline
Drive that closed periodically due to hazardous weather, and hunting. However,
visitors are welcome to hike and enjoy the park from outside a vehicle anytime.

Yellowstone National Park
All entrances to Yellowstone National Park are open from late spring to early fall.
The North Entrance to Northeast Entrance at Silver Gate and Cooke City, Montana is
open all year. Yellowstone National Parks is one of the few national parks that
allow snowmobiling in the winter!

Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is open year-round. Yosemite National Park is open year
round, however though some roads are closed due to snow from November through May or
June.

Zion National Park
Open all year.
